Mapping Business News

business news

Newspapers both print and online publications as well as news websites illustrate business trends using a variety of data visualization tools. Integral to the display is the fact that these charts or maps require to be easy to comprehend and visually arresting enough to hold the readers’ attention. Most publications show business data with a worldwide perspective. In this respect, the usage of flash maps in order to illustrate or just facts allows for easy comparison and analysis.

Take for example the phenomenon of recession. One of the first questions that any individual has regarding this economic downturn is how the markets over the world has been affected. If one is to illustrate this data through attractive and comprehensive visualization the easiest method is to plot all the data on a map. Mapping software allows us to superimpose charts on a map which is an effective way to illustrate the data keeping geographical concerns in mind.

Another and perhaps the more effective way to do it is to choose color ranges to correspond to data ranges and then use pin points to mark each city or country or market as desired. A mouse over option can be included which allows one to get to the actual chart displaying in greater detail the market calisthenics. The chart can also include a link to homepage of the market being studied which will provide more information with regard to the money metrics.

This kind of mapping can also be used in a 2D map for print purposes. In this case too, color coded markers can effectively illustrate the trends over the world. A 2D map is also a great place to place columns corresponding to the trends in each zone. While the make an otherwise dry set of data greatly attractive, it also becomes easily comprehensible.

A layman is easily distracted and confused by a set of numbers run without sufficient classification by newspapers and magazines.

With respect to this concern, anything from commodities traded in to flourishing markets and dips in stock indexes can be illustrated using a world map or even the map of a country as a background to plot numbers on. Further analysis of a map allows us to relate trends with economic policies and market characteristics. Yet another advantage in using maps like this is the ability to choose a time line for review varying from a year right up to 100 years. Each year or set of years can be conveniently color-coded making a map that is visually stunning and simple to comprehend.

Laminate Flooring

Laminate flooring is flooring that is similar in appearance to wooden flooring. However, instead of being made of wood, t is composed of either synthetic materials or synthetic materials combined with some natural ones. It is finished with a cover of decorative material. Laminate flooring has three key components, namely core, wear and backer.

The core forms the base of the flooring and it gives flooring resistance and strength. There are different materials used to make the core such as a fiberboard, particleboard or polyurethane foam. Fiberboard and particleboard are made from wood fibers. They are pressed together with glue and are moisture resistant. When there is a leakage in the flooring, the core would have to be replaced. The second component of laminate flooring is the wear layer. It is made up of many layers of craft paper. The craft paper is soaked with phenolic resin and they are pressed together under high pressure and heat. The bottom-most layer is called the backer and is made from craft paper that has been saturated with resin. This bears all the weight on the flooring and needs to be balanced with the wear layer. If the right amount of balance does not exist between the wear layer and the backer, the floor may bend due to weight. When this occurs, the laminate floor needs to be resurrected. This is typically done by a process that involves binding all the layers together and gluing them under high heat and pressure. Laminate flooring is suitable for all the rooms in a house except the bathroom. This is because laminate flooring can be spoiled by moisture seeping into it. In recent times, some manufacturers have developed a moisture-resistant type of laminate flooring.

Laminate flooring is an economical way to make floors look tasteful and decorative. Laminate flooring is extremely sturdy and last longer than most other forms of flooring. It is easy to maintain and can be kept clean without much efforts. It is also highly resistant to sunlight, scratches, stains and burns.

Interior Brick Walls Provide a Beautiful and Unique Look For Your Home

Why would anyone want a brick wall inside their home? There are many things you can do to create a look that is warm and appealing, and brick walls are one of them. Consider that brick walls won’t tear or get holes in them as sheet rock can. Imagine how durable they are. Decorating is easy, and your home will have a unique, beautiful look that all of your friends will envy.

Create any look from modern to rustic

Not only is brick sturdy and durable, it’s also fire proof, which is why many people like to use it on the interior of their homes. Left their natural colors, bricks in brown and red shades add a rustic touch to the decor. For those who like a more modern, contemporary appeal, bricks can be painted any color you like – and you can even create patterns to add further interest.

Painting interior brick surfaces

If you want to paint old brick that has been in your home for years, you can get an entirely new and different look. Simply brush off the bricks with a stiff-bristled brush to remove dirt and dust and then apply a primer. The best paints to use on bricks are latex and cement-based paints. Avoid using epoxy, rubber and oil-based paints which can give off vapors for some time.

For a truly original look, create designs as you paint. For example, you may want to paint rectangles, squares or pyramid shapes as you go, simply by using a different color paint that blends with the rest of your decor.

Tile a portion of your brick wall for an original look

You can actually use stone or mosaic tiles to spruce up plain brick walls! Apply them around the ceiling as you would a wallpaper border for a distinctive look or tile the brick wall beginning halfway up and continue to the ceiling. This helps break up the solid appearance of the wall and add further interest. If you have a fireplace that is surrounded by brick, consider adding a wood mantle above the fireplace as a focal point. The mantle is a great place for displaying family photos, greenery and scrumptiously scented candles!

Hanging wall decorations on brick walls

Many people do not have brick walls in their homes simply because they assumed they would not be able to hang pictures and other wall art. With brick, you simply use concrete screws and lead anchors to hold shelves or other wall decor that may be heavy, such as large paintings. You can also find picture hangers that are designed for use in concrete and brick.

Brick walls can add a cozy, old-world charm to the room or a colorful abstract look for those who prefer a more modern appeal. Considering they last forever and don’t have to be painted every few years like sheet rock walls, brick walls offer many beautiful benefits to the inside of your home, as well as the outside! For a uniquely different approach to interior décor, give brick walls a chance – you’ll be surprised at just how exquisite it looks.
